Who’s ready to spend more time outside?? Here’s a look at 7 warm weather Wichita Falls activities we’re looking forward to!
Kayaking
Did you know you could rent kayaks and head out on Lake Wichita? Click here or here to find out more! (By the way… you can also book a Lake Wichita Pontoon boat cruise as well!! Another awesome warm weather excursion!)
Circle Trail
The Circle Trail is great place to escape the city and see wildlife, the river, the falls and more. Here’s some trail maps! Time to (finally) put that bike I got for Christmas to good use!
Farmers Market
Springtime means fresh fruits and vegetables! Starting May 7th, we’ll be able to start picking up seasonal, locally grown produce at the Wichita Falls Farmers Market!
Dining Al Fresco
Whether you decide to pack a picnic and head to a park near you, or head to one of the many restaurants in Wichita Falls with a patio — being able to sit outside on a nice night is one of my favorite things to do!
Here’s a look at some patio restaurants you can head to:
- Los Tres Amigos
- Fuzzy’s Tacos
- Deli Planet
- The Yard Food Truck Park
- Willie’s Burger (Lunch Only)
- Gypsy Uncorked
- Gypsy Kit (Lunch Only)

Castaway Cove
Season tickets are on sale now for Castaway Cove. If this summer is anything like last summer… or the summer before that… I’m going to be spending a lot of time on Nellie’s Rolling River.
Outdoor Concerts and Festivals
Come spring and summer, you can expect outdoor festivals and concerts almost every week!
MSU’s Museum of Art hosts Live at the Lake, Wichita Falls Parks and Rec has a summer outdoor concert series and Downtown Development has 3 outdoor festivals (Saint Patrick’s Day, Cajun Fest and Art and Soul) coming up March – June.
River Bend Nature Center
Where better to get in touch with the outdoors than River Bend Nature Center? You can walk the trails, look for animal tracks, search for bones in the Dino dig site, looking for fish and other critters in the pond.
And remember, you can always check the calendar for a list of events and activities happening in Wichita Falls!! With so much to see and do we’ve barely scratched the surface!
