The Lake Wichita revitalization is moving forward, and there are a number of ways you can help project leaders raise the money needed to bring the lake back to life. One of the newest, and perhaps most beneficial to your health is to jump on to stand up paddle board. A fixture in many cities situated on a lake, river, or beach (including Austin, Houston, and Galveston), this activity is now available in Wichita Falls.
Owned by Kris and Robin Germany, SupWF officially started towards the end of August 2016.
Kris says, “I originally started thinking about doing kayaks 4-5 years ago and then the drought hit. I sup’ed in Maui about 3 years ago, and told my wife that this is what we should do.”
The company is giving 10% of all their proceeds to the Lake Wichita Revitalization Project.
Kris says, “I love the lake project. I have attended several monthly meetings and it is really cool what they are doing. giving back felt like a natural thing to do.”
SupWF is open during the summer from 9AM to Dusk. You can save time by signing waivers and reserving your board in advance online. For more information on SupWF, click here. High winds make it difficult to sup, so be sure to call ahead to find out if conditions are right to get out on the water.
