It's Gonna be May: Wichita Falls Event Guide
Feel free to ignore the Justin Timberlake pun... we're just excited. Spring is officially here, and so are a whole host of upcoming festivals and fun events in Wichita Falls!! In addition to amazing recurring events like indoor football & theatre, we've also got some pretty spectacular annual or one-off events. Here's a list of what we're looking forward to most and why.
The monthly After Hours Art Walk returns to Downtown Wichita Falls on May 4. You can find unique jewelry, art and more (and just in time for Mother's Day!) A trolley will also be available to whisk you to locations like the Kell House, Kemp Center and other amazing galleries downtown. Be sure to stop by!
Sidecar Brewing, located in the old Pumpjack Diner on Broad, will soon be opening their doors! You can enjoy a two day sneak peek celebration. Sample locally brewed beer, enjoy live music, food trucks and much more!
Experience the beauty of bugs and learn about their importance in our daily lives. There will be many activities for all ages, such as osu’s insect adventure where you can see, hold, and touch a multitude of insects, a bug hunt contest, bug games, buggy crafts plus so much more!
Let the good times roll at the annual Cajun Fest from Downtown Wichita Falls Development. Sample delicious dishes like crawfish, jambalaya, boudin. Enjoy awesome zydeco music from T'Monde, Pine Leaf Boys and "T" Broussard. This year you can also enjoy a mini-Ferris Wheel and inflatable obstacle course on top of all the other fun!
2017 marks 13 years of the Kemp Center's amazing sculpture garden! Be sure to stop by to visit with the artists and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, live music, and sparkling beverages. This event is open to the public and free of charge, no reservations required!
A-haw-haw... More than four and a half decades after their formation in the Houston area, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees ZZ Top will hit Wichita Falls Memorial Auditorium with their all new tour, The Tonnage Tour. It doesn't get more Texan than this.
It's the sweet 16 for the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, and it could be the biggest year yet! Wrestling greats like George Napolitano, Tatsumi Fujinami, and Mick Foley will be in town for the ceremony and you can enjoy plenty of fun events including Wrestling Under the Stars, comedy shows and much more!
And just like that... summer is here! Grab the family and head out to Castaway Cove to celebrate the first weekend of the season! You can tackle your favorite slides, or just make a few laps in the lazy river!
