First National Bank of Wichita Falls and Fire & Safety, Inc. are partnering to pay tribute to the outstanding men and women of the Wichita Falls Fire Department at their first “Firefighter & First Responder Appreciation Day,” Friday, October 13, 2017.
First National Bank invites you to come say thank you to our firefighters and first responders from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at their branch at the corner of Fairway and Kell.
The public is invited to “Fill the Bucket” with donations for a delicious hamburger lunch, with donations going to Wichita Falls Fire Department. All firefighters and first responders eat free.
Fire & Safety, Inc. will be giving away smoke detector batteries to the first 250 people who stop by, and there will also be a drawing for a home fire extinguisher, also courtesy of Fire & Safety, Inc.
“This is just our way of saying thank you to those we count on every day, yet often forget to say thank you to. We’re wrapping up Fire Safety Week in Wichita Falls in a big way this year,” said Kevin Goldstein, Wichita Falls market president for First National Bank.
In 1920, President Woodrow Wilson issued the first National Fire Prevention Day Proclamation, and since 1922, Fire Safety Week has been observed each October.
